How dark can you tint in Indiana?

Indiana measures tint by how much light gets through the glass, called VLT. A lower number is darker. Your front side windows must let at least 30% of the light through.

SUVs, trucks and vans can have different rules for the windows behind the driver. We check your vehicle before we fit anything, and medical exemptions can allow darker film.

Union’s 35%, 50% and 70% shades meet the 30% line. The darker 5%, 15% and 20% shades are below it.
